GM upgrades Mich. plants, adds 200 jobs - 02/14/06 - The Detroit News

The Detroit News:
"General Motors Corp. will announce half a billion dollars in investments in five Michigan factories today, creating 200 jobs and underscoring its commitment to the state despite pressing financial difficulties.

At a news conference in Pontiac that will be attended by Gov. Jennifer Granholm, the automaker is expected to outline new investments in its Pontiac Assembly Center and Pontiac stamping plants, an engine plant in Romulus, a transmission plant in Ypsilanti and the ultra-modern Lansing Grand River assembly plant, according to sources familiar with the situation."
