Granholm leading DeVos in recent polls

The State News - www.statenews.com:
"Recent polls show Gov. Jennifer Granholm leading Republican challenger Dick DeVos before tonight's debate.

Iowa-based Selzer & Co. published a poll Sunday that said 49 percent of 643 likely voters would vote for Granholm. Forty-one percent said they'd vote for DeVos. The poll had a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

A poll released Friday by the Lansing-based EPIC-MRA showed 51 percent of 608 likely voters would vote for Granholm compared with the 42 percent who would vote for DeVos. The poll's margin of sampling error was plus or minus 4 percentage points."

Yes, it's not looking good for Dick DeVos, and that's great news for MI. He certainly didn't help his chances during the three debates by not providing direct answers and conveying an unsteady and shaky appearance.

IMO, people are seeing that Governor Granholm has done an admirable job under extremely difficult circumstances with the auto industry and manufacturing sectors of the economy. There is more and more good news on that front and I saw yesterday that Granholm announced another $1billion and 8,500 jobs for the state from 8 companies.

Plus, DeVos hasn't provided a solid reason to vote for him. I'm predicting a Granholm win.

Jake,

I agree about Granholm winning the election. It was almost as though DeVos started his campaign activities too early, his objectives provided too few specific details, and he allowed the "GUV" to bring the fight to him.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dave
